Over time, some areas of the fabric may lose their soft velvet texture – this is a natural part of the fabric’s charm and character. How to care for velvet: To refresh the fabric, use a soft-bristled brush or a handheld steamer. If any liquid is spilled, blot it immediately with an absorbent cloth – do not rub, as this may damage the fabric. Use only cleaners specifically designed for velvet or warm water with mild soap. At first glance, it may seem thin and gentle, but the Martindale cycle test measured 210,000 strength. (The strength of the fabric, also known as its abrasion resistance, is determined by the world-renowned "Martindale" fabric rubbing test. During this test, a fabric sample is pressed against metal discs and rubbed in circular motions at a certain speed until at least two fabric fibers break. The test results are measured in cycles. The more cycles it can withstand, the more resistant the fabric. The fabric can be used for furniture if the result of this test exceeds 5,000 rubbing cycles.)
